Ethically focused super founded by women, for women+

Verve Super have always enjoyed a fantastic brand, bursting with member and partner stories to be shared.

However after several iterations, the Verve team still hadn’t found a way to justifiably bring these stories to life online. They had also struggled to educate potential customers on the fund’s core product: ethical investments.

After some excellent chats with co-founder and CEO Christina Hobbs via the Startmate community, it was clearly time to elevate Verve Super’s digital experience into something truly remarkable - a place that makes women say ‘wow’.

Some briefs are almost as fun to create as the work itself

However like many challenger brands in the financial services industry, it was essential for Verve to balance relevance to their dynamic and savvy customer base, with the trust required to operate in a highly regulated market.

With this in mind, as part of the initial reverse briefing process I created a simple visual framework, with the words 'Trust' at one end and 'Exuberance' at the other. Placing each design concept or interaction somewhere on this line encouraged both creative and client teams to use the same language, leading to more informed decisions.

The original content on VerveSuper.com.au appeared to be working effectively, so the proposed focus of this project was to elevate the customer experience using an innovative combination of technology and storytelling elements.

With this in mind, we proposed a deeply collaborative process between various highly skilled professionals, led by a single point of creative direction and resource management. Taking this approach allowed the Verve team to experiment with some cutting edge design and technology tools, without the cost of an external agency or the challenge of building and managing a large creative team.

It also allowed me to invite some of the most talented collaborators in my network to show their skills on a project that really mattered to them.
