Conductor: Part 1

Over the past 18 months, I’ve been collaborating with the small but mighty team at Conductor.

Initially tasked with a basic rebrand, the conversation rapidly morphed into a broader exploration of their positioning, marketing tactics and even fundraising strategy.

Funnily enough, the first piece of work I delivered was something I’d only ever done for myself, never for a client. Once the team saw the way I used design thinking in unexpected ways (ie. storytelling and even copywriting their new strapline), things moved rather nicely.

After six months of consulting, the founders asked if I would consider joining the team, so I agreed to come on board in an extremely limited capacity (Fractional CMO), primarily focused on supporting the product and growth areas of the business.

Since then, I’ve helped reshape their marketing and fundraising materials, create a whole new consumer facing Freemium version of the product and cheered as they were invited to become one of just 11 companies in the world (and the only Australian company) to be part of the Global Aerospace Accelerator program.

“I love how Murray can take all the ideas in my head and capture the important and pivotal pieces to simplify and help me understand the value in opportunities.

He has such a breadth of experience to bring to the table. I only wish I had started working with him sooner!”

— Karren Jensen, Co-Founder & CEO

In Part 2 of this case study, you’ll see how this collaboration led to the creation of a brand new, super successful product line called SoundChecks.
